UGLY LOVE (BOOK REVIEW)
COLLEEN HOOVER
Colleen Hoover is the #1 New York Times best-selling author of IT ENDS WITH, UGLY LOVE, SLAMMED, NOVEMBER 9, HOPELESS, POINT OF RETREAT, SLAMMED, POINT OF RETREAT and THIS GIRL and so on.
Colleen Hoover is an exceptional writer and I loved every book of hers. She made me read after another but this book shooked to the core because thats how intense it was, where you get deeply lost, addicted, and hooked in the story, and she is my favorite romance author. If you are not familiar with the author then this may give you an insight into the magic and talent she possessed in her writings.
Mile is sure everyone's favorite character and why wouldn’t he be? it’s not because he is attractive but in fact, he fell so hard in love and would do anything for the love of his life, that was Rachel (Ex-lover). He was the most heartbreaking character in the book.
This book is purely loaded with heartache, tears, the emotional and sexual need of Tate’s and miles, and about they both ended up falling in love but also hurt each other at the same time. Both thought that they had everything planned out but who knows the future and how can you control your heart when it wants more.
There is something I was not entirely happy about was how hurtful Miles was before and he also never wanted to do anything with Tate in the first place. Tate was young, beautiful, and has a whole career to build around. Besides acknowledging the fact that miles never want any emotional feelings and attachment with her, she still daydreams about him and has gotten herself into some trap that should not have been there in the first place.
At first, we all felt sorry for Tate but she had that coming despite after knowing the history of Mile and Rachel (his first love), that how he is still traumatized from his past about Rachel, he still never wanted any sort of attachments and he never wanted any future with her, or to be emotionally invested with anyone.
He had a wall built around him and Tate should have respected that. Miles set out a couple of rules to abide by but for Tate, she couldn’t abide by them she wanted more than just flings (which Miles never agreed upon)
From the beginning, I understand that miles was struggling with his demons and he cannot love anyone after what happened with him and, and it was selfish to forcefully want that affection from someone when you knew he can’t reciprocate. No matter how hurtful and selfish he was to Tate but in the end, we all understood how difficult and sensitive was for a mile to love someone again.
There was a huge benefit of the doubt that how he overcome his psychological damage, I am still unsure how miraculously he got over it. I also wanted some insight from Tate’s point of view as well and Mile’s about how indigenous their situation creates a whole complication. I was given the chance to see the transformation of miles into the person he struggled with for so long.
This genre which had lots of romance, heartache, chemistry and sexual history of Tate and miles give us mixed feeling throughout the story. Rachel was the first love of Miles and Miles was hers. Both were young, naïve, and happy to be each other’s love. But then the twist came in their life and both lost each other, After six years Miles has not gotten over Rachel but Tate thought she could fix him so she tried to convince herself more in hopes of changing him which destroyed their relationship.
This book teaches about how love can be ugly and beautiful at the same time and how it can destroy and heal you both. This was the case for these three main characters Rachel, Miles, and Tate. As it’s a book by Coleen hoover and it is inevitable to have a happy ending ever after knowing this is a romance book. But there are lots of plot holes but the author who grasps your attention till the end makes you want more after finishing it.
She refuses to let the audience get off so easily, the roller coaster ride makes you happy, cry, and excited but you still can’t get enough. The plot at the end threw you off guard that how beautifully you can be healed from something so painful and traumatizing.
Ugly love, which gives great joy, happiness and wants you to punch someone at the same time and I had to sacrifice my sleep to read the whole book in one night because you just can’t get over the story that how it will turn out. You become invested so emotionally in one point that makes you frustrated that you feel like if it e story is real
Ugly love may be my first love but it won’t be my last. Coleen hoover sure knows how to make the audience feel so emotional and want more at the end of every book she publishes but this one will always have my heart.
Seriously, who can’t wait for the next book? because I can’t :) I am so down for another rollercoaster of emotions.
